Cartoon: Presenting DANCING Interim Findings – Text Description
The cartoon is an A4 size, with a title, followed by four half-width images and finishing with a full-width image. The colours used are the project brand colours – different blues and greys with accents of green and purple.
The title is followed by cartoon images of the faces of the team members with their names underneath: Tiarnán, Ann, Léa, Delia, Hilary, Iryna and Eva.
The first picture shows the team in a room at the university. The context box reads ‘after the DANCING mid-term academic conference, the team have continued their research work’. Delia says, “The upcoming Irish Association of Law Teachers’ Annual Conference at Dublin City University will be a great venue for our research team to present interim findings!”
The second context box reads ‘At Dublin City University’. Five members of the team are at a table with microphones with the DANCING logo behind them, making a presentation. Delia says “We have time for some discussion. Are there any questions?” One audience member responds, “Can you tell us more about the empirical research across Europe?” Delia responds, “We conducted 64 interviews across 28 European countries with organisations of people with disabilities, organisations of Deaf people and organisations working on arts and disability.”
The third box shows the team members chatting after the presentation at Dublin City University. Delia says, “I am very happy with our presentations and the discussion!” Ann responds, “So, what’s next?” Léa says, “We will have our second DANCING Academic Conversation in December 2023 and the third one in February 2024.”
The fourth box shows the team holding the third DANCING academic conversation – a hybrid event – at the university. Delia says, “Welcome everyone! I am pleased to introduce Dr. Vilija Velyvyte from the University of Reading.” Dr. Velyvyte speaks online from Teams, “Thank you! I am excited to talk to you about my book on judicial authority in EU internal market law!”
The final, full-width box shows the whole team in the meeting room at the university to discuss upcoming events and presentations. Iryna says “I recently presented my research at a seminar held at the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission in Dublin.” Ann continues, “I will present a paper with Delia at the Socio-legal Studies Association Conference in March.” Delia says, “We are making a lot of progress, and it is great to disseminate our interim findings widely.” Tiarnán adds, “In April we will host the Premiere of ‘Lived Fiction’ by Stopgap in Dublin.” Hilary responds, “Wonderful!” Léa finishes by saying, “and in July we will all travel to Madrid to present it at the I-CONS Conference.”
