In collaboration with the Horizon2020 projects ReCreating Europe and inDICEs, the DANCING team organised the Open Up Museums! Conference. The conference was imagined as ‘A two-day itinerary workshop to explore key issues and tools to promote openness in the cultural sector between law and practice’. The conference was kindly hosted by the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento.

Taking place across a span of two days in Trento and Rovereto, the Open Up Museums! conference engaged academics and researchers from across Europe in activities encompassing panel discussions, training sessions, and guided museum tours. Key speakers included, among many others, Michele Lanzinger, Director of MuSe, and Aldo Grassini, President of Museo Omero.

Its primary focus was to delve into diverse dimensions of enhancing museum accessibility for persons with disabilities. Notably, the conference highlighted the significance of digital accessibility and underscored the relevance of copyright legislation. These thematic threads linked of the research conducted within the remit of the DANCING project  to broader scholarly efforts to address the challenges of fostering inclusion, particularly exploring the impact of the Marrakesh Treaty as part of Work Package 2.
