Cartoon: Our 4th Year – Text Description
The cartoon is an A4 size, with a title, followed by four half-width frames and one full-width frame. The colours used are the project brand colours – different blues and greys with accents of green and purple.
The title is followed by cartoon images of the faces of the team members with their names underneath: Tiarnán, Ann, Léa, Delia, Hilary, Iryna and Eva.
The setting is a meeting room at Maynooth University.
In frame one, the team are wrapping up and reflecting on year 4 of DANCING. Hilary says, “It’s been a very busy yet successful year!” Tiarnán responds, “Indeed, the DANCING Mid-Term Academic Conference was a big milestone!” Léa adds, “…and we presented at many more conferences since, such as at IALT 2023 and I-CONS 2024.”
In frame two, Iryna continues, “…and at the end of this year 4, in early September, we will present DANCING at the UACES conference in Trento.” Eva adds, “…we also continued to engage with other scholars via our Academic Conversations series this year.”
In frame three, Delia says, “The research is advancing well and we focused on EU Law under Work Package 2, and conducted interviews with EU level stakeholders.” Ann says, “Moreover, we are also wrapping up Work Package 1 with a co-authored monograph that will be published by Routledge in 2025!”
In frame four, Léa says, “I submitted my first single-authored article to the International Journal of Cultural Policy…” and Iryna says, “…and we published our article on legal recognition of sign languages in the EU Member States!” Eva continues, “Together with Delia we just delivered a collected volume on actors in EU Disability Law to Hart Publishing.”
In frame five, Hilary sums up by saying, “A lot of publications and dissemination activities this year!” Delia says, “…and the world premiere of ‘Lived Fiction’ by Stopgap in Dublin was another big milestone!” Ann says, “We are now in the final year of DANCING.” Léa adds, “…and there is still much to do!” Tiarnán concludes, “…as I am taking up a new position, I wish you every success with the remainder of the project!”
