Lazar Stefanović joined the ERC DANCING team in January 2025 as a research assistant. Lazar holds a PhD in international human rights law with a focus on the rights of children with disabilities from the University of Vienna. His dissertation examines the right to family life for children with disabilities in Austria, Serbia, and South Africa. He spent a semester at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, working on his doctoral thesis. He has extensive experience working with multiple UN agencies and NGOs in the Balkans region, particularly on projects related to disability rights and inclusive development. He earned a master’s degree at the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice. His master thesis explored the transition from institutional to family-based care for children with disabilities in Serbia and Bulgaria.
